📋 A NOTE FROM MY WORKBENCH: Beocenter systems are complex electromechanical devices. The 7000‑series uses modular construction with separate amplifier, tuner, tape, and control boards. The 1500–2200 models are more compact but still require extensive capacitor replacement, belt service, and optical/laser repairs. I have factory service manuals and 30+ years of hands‑on experience with each model.
⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING – BEOCENTER SPECIFIC: These units contain high‑voltage power supplies (up to ±45V for amps) and live chassis sections. Capacitors in the power supply, motor control, and audio paths degrade, causing hum, distortion, erratic cycling, and tape transport failures. Always discharge large capacitors before servicing. Do not attempt internal repairs unless qualified.

🔧 Cassette deck service specifics (7000‑series vs. 1500‑2200)
The 7000‑series uses a heavy‑duty transport with separate capstan motor and reel motor. The compact models (1500‑2200) use a unified motor with belt drive to both capstan and reel. I replace all belts with exact‑spec replacements, clean the tape path, demagnetize heads, and adjust azimuth and speed using a test tape.
